Fredi phoned us to thank us for the website which she has found very informative,
and for a chat about her plans for boarding kennels.
Having printed
off the pages from our website for the 12 Kennels, and discussed them with
the Planning Officer & the Environmental Health Officer who would be licensing
her kennels - Fredi received very positive feedback from them in a letter
of confirmation and is now in a position to apply for full Planning Permission.
Fredi has previously been a Social Worker
and her husband Nigel is a farmer. They have a family farm of 460
acres which has
a stream, woodland and is beautiful - so there will be no shortage of walks to
enjoy!
Cornwall is in an area designated as highly suitable for grants, so the Rural
Diversification Scheme & Enterprise Tamar funding is something they are looking
at now.
Having visited Gentian Hill Boarding
Kennels a couple of weeks ago, they
feel that this is exactly the kind of caring & quality business they would like
to run themselves. They certainly have a great start, with dog knowledge, working
from home business experience, Nigel able to lay the foundations, and friends
with grooming & landscaping businesses!
It is obvious from speaking to Fredi
that she is a very caring person (as you would expect from a Social Worker!)
and has a passion and commitment to creating and running her kennels, and a great
love of dogs.
Fredi will shortly be providing us with some photos for this page so
that we can follow their progress through the Planning application stage right
through to getting her kennels built.
